Eleanor is a research-driven artist and designer. Through the loom, chisel, and  pixel, Eleanor explores the joints that connect fiber — of multiple ancestries — to space and time.  Her work is driven by an interest in the interdependencies of humanity’s relationships. Attuned to the familial-arities between oneself and the lineage of weaving, computing, supporting, romancing, and playing, she reconstructs the role of the lover to be present within all types of relationships. Eleanor proposes an actionable accountability of existing in a reciprocal romance with friends, materials, processes, and spaces – redefining a lover as the act of being in community with someone/thing else.

 Handmade in baltimore, md.

We are situated in a city brimming with craftspeople and steeped in history. We are proud to divert fallen trees from Baltimore city into our projects to continue to make history. The Baltimore forestry division processed over 600 tons of fallen wood material in 2023. Utilizing this rich resource we can mindfully contribute to sustainability on the community level.

A natural progression of our businesses goals centers around proliferating craft objects into the mainstream again. Craft is not a solitary activity it is one that is necessarily involved in a community and culture of making. This is also to say that creating a new age of crafts people and craft innovation there needs to be a structured outlet and home for these activities to take place. Inlay’s solution to this problem is to cultivate such a space. Inlay Studio is working towards supporting an artist collective to give shop access, gallery space, studio space, and a stable community to connect our values with our actions.
